Has your Email Address changed?
Update the Email Distribution list now. We have been receiving an increasing number of returned C&R Communications email. With many Adelphia customers moving to Comcast or changing over to Verizon FIOS email addresses may have changed. Sometimes this is because the ISP blocks because it thinks it is spam. In these cases it is important to include the C&R Communications email address (communications@courtsandridges.org) in your address book.
If you're not on the Courts and Ridges Email Distribution list, sign up now.
Building a deck? Planting a tree? Installing a mailbox?
811 is the new number you should call before you begin any digging project.
A new, federally-mandated national "Call Before You Dig" number, 811 was created to help protect you from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging projects. People digging often make risky assumptions about whether or not they should get their utility lines marked due to concerns about project delays, costs and previous calls about other projects. These assumptions can be life-threatening.
Every digging job requires a call – even small projects like planting trees or shrubs. If you hit an underground utility line while digging, you can harm yourself or those around you, disrupt service to an entire neighborhood and potentially be responsible for fines and repair costs.
Don't assume you know what's below. Protect yourself and those around you – Call 811 every time.
'No Soliciting' Signs Available
Door-to-door solicitation seems to be on an increase within our community. As per a previous article (Who’s that at the Door? – Oct/Nov 05 Issue) the Courts and Ridges HOA does not have any bylaws or covenants addressing Solicitation, and even if we did we have no authority in dealing with Solicitors.
For those of you who would like to deter these door-to-door solicitors the Communications committee has created a PDF of notices that you can cut out and stick to the sidelites of your door. There are two options: one, which is designed to deter all solicitors, and another, which will permit our neighborhood kids to still come by for GS Cookies, etc. Click here to download.
Neighborhood Watch Program Reactivated
We are happy to announce the reactivation of the Neighborhood Watch program at the Courts and Ridges. The program represents a
significant connection between our community and local law enforcement and an opportunity for neighbors to work together to
better our community while carrying on daily activities.
If you are interested in participating in the program please send an email to the Neighborhood Watch Committee.
